Which program should I pursue - LUTCF or FSS?
The LUTCF and FSS programs share many common courses. The key difference is that the FSS program includes two required financial planning courses (FA 262 and FA 263), which are not available through the LUTCF program.
How many courses are required in the programs?
You must complete a total of six courses to earn the LUTCF or FSS designation. More information on the specific courses and course requirements for the

How long does it take to complete a class?
All LUTCF and FSS classes last eight weeks followed by an examination.
How are courses delivered?
LUTCF and FSS courses are taught in classrooms or online by experienced moderators. Our moderators bring years of industry knowledge to their classes, which feature a variety of role-playing exercises, sales planning projects, action projects, readings, and class discussion. The College works with local
NAIFA associations as well as agency managers to organize classes at any time throughout the year.
Can I take LUTCF/FSS courses online?
You have the option to complete several LUTCF/FSS courses online through our Online Training Center (OTC). To complete a course online, you will submit a variety of classroom assignments and sales learning activities and provide feedback to your classmates. There is no specific day or time when you must login, but you have from Monday until Sunday to submit each week's assignment.
Which courses are available online?
A 201, FA 202, FA 251, FA 262 and FA 271 are currently available.
What is the FA 290 course and how does it differ from the other course requirements?
FA 290, Ethics for the Financial Professional, is a self-study course. Course materials and exams are available through the Blackboard website. The tuition cost for FA 290 is $155. (Click here to view detailed testing information about FA 290.)
What courses can I take to fulfill a CE requirement?
Many of The American College's LUTCF/FSS courses may be applied towards your CE credit requirements, although specific amounts vary by state. Please use our
